Can the email address attached to an account be changed?

Very likely.
If you go to your account settings, there is a little wrench next to your E-mail address, and if you click on it you e-mail address is editable.

Unless there is something I’m missing, I am unable to find the account settings. I don’t have very many posts to my credit.

Click on avatar at top right, then the person icon, then preferences from drop down menu.
