The side panel “visibles” is all black in the latest version of pcbnew. I notice the same thing with main kicad window when loading files. In the files pane I can scroll down and see the file names one at a time, but in the pcbnew pane they are all black all the time.
I also noticed the cursor in the schematic editor does not erase properly - I am essentially drawing with it. I just have to redraw the screen every couple of seconds to get around this.
I can’t post a screen shot, but if anyone wants you can see it here: http://eresrch.buckybits.com/kicad1.pnghttp://eresrch.buckybits.com/kicad2.png
Yeah, it probably is. It’s curious I don’t see that problem under Parallels on a Mac. I did reload the “standard” Ubuntu 12.04 version, and it can read the gerber files that the latest build creates. I see that the latest build is really assuming Ubuntu 14.04 which also may have something to do with it.
I suspect it has something to do with my graphics card. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem, and with luck figured out how to solve it. If not, then I can live with the “standard” Kicad until I eventually have to upgrade to 14.04 (and by then, that too will be obsolete!)
At this point I have it working well enough that I can order boards, so I have it functioning. If I’m the only person on the planet with this problem, it can be ignored!
