[bug] problem with clear/dark themes

Blank ICON popup descriptions Schematic

I am running KICAD 4.0.7 on KBUNTU 16.04. When I hover over any of the ICONS a balloon with an empty description pops up. I have tried re-installing KBUNTU and KICAD with no success. Any suggestions?
