Breaking modules off assembled arrays & packaging into trays

Hi folks,

I work for a company that has built several PCBs in the past, but all have been stand-alone products intended to be used on their own. We are now doing our first PCB module. It will be soldered onto the end customer’s board during their assembly.

For assembly to happen at production volumes, the modules must be supplied to the customer in a form that a pick-and-place machine can use, such as trays. As with any small PCB, however, these modules will come off the assembly line in arrays/panels and they must be broken into individual boards. They would then need to be placed into trays.

Does anyone know of companies that automate this - i.e. that can take assembled arrays, break them up, and package them into trays?

Thanks!

Steve

I would bet that 99% of this is being done by rows of poorly-paid people.
