According to the following settings, shouldn’t the board color be black? Is it a bug? Latest git version of KiCAD.
It doesn’t seem to work with 6.0.4 on Windows either.

Actually the problem is that the preview swatch of Solder mask top is Undefined colour, but renders as the default, Green, which is why you see green, except where the board is exposed.

It seems that the board colour is actually the mask colour. Changing this seems a little broken, the old/new does not work, but then after closing the picker, does display
I could take an oath that those three colors are all black by default…
