Hello,
I terminated the schematic part, there is no error, just a warning.
I export and import the net list on the pcb part.
Next I execute the DRC test: 112 errors.
Errors are: violoations → I think it’s not a problem for now
not connected items missing connections between elements
parity achematic: item does not correspond to the shema.
Sorry I have the french version.
Is that normal to have errors at this step ?
Thank you so much for your help.
Best regards
Thierry
It’s expected to have a lot of DRC errors in the PCB editor before you do the routing. Routing will fix many of them.
If you’d like to know if specific errors are expected, you’ll have to be more specific (or even upload your project).
Unrelated to your question, but note that in KiCad 5, 5.1, 6, and later it is not necessary to export a netlist from the schematic editor and import it into the pcb editor. You can use Tools → Update PCB from Schematic instead.
many thanks for your reply.
I will install freeroutines and will see…
If I anderstand I have to place all components first and run the scrpit.
Is that correct ?
Just in cas, is there any place to post the project in this area ?
Try to drug zipped project to your post. New users are not allowed to do it, but as it is not first time you write than probably you are allowed (I just don’t know).
It is old way (used in KiCad V4). Since V5 you should use “Update PCB from schematic”.
DRC tests if the whole PCB is designed properly. If it was not designed yet then it is simply not possible it to be designed properly.
