I finally decided to make a set of printable labels for my continuously growing
collection of electronics components - specifically resistors and capacitors, for now.
I wanted the labels to be small enough for my 2 60 drawer storage bins and also
to be able to simply attach to resistor/capacitor batch sets.
Because I am ‘old school’ I also included the number coding for capacitors
and both 4 and 5 band resistor values with visible resistor bands on the labels.
Nowadays, I use the computer and having everything easily identified allows
much faster and efficient assembly and testing of KiCad prototypes before
I send my Gerber files for PCB Manufacture.
It turned out quite well and so I thought I would share it with others.
Not exactly related to KiCad but nice. I’ve always wondered how I could use those labels on Linux. Now I have both a blank template and labels for resistors and capacitors.
Thank you,
This is very thoughtful.
Once upon a time I used Parts & Vendors to try to organized inventory the kitting process for small builds. That product is no longer available.
Do have a solution for kitting?
I find the Bulk Editor from the schematic is close to what I want.
I have no solution for managing inventory…. Sigh….
