Automatically associate a seeed component to its footprint

I am using the seeed ‘Open Parts Library’ (OPL): https://www.seeedstudio.com/opl.html

It is working great. However it looks like I still need to perform the footprint association manually. This is a bit sad, as all components also have their footprints defined in the seeed OPL, so doing it again by hand, instead of having an automatic association, is just one more source of errors.

Is there a way to get the footprint association for components in the OPL done automatically by KiCAD?

I think I looked at this before. SeeedStudio have a really bad part conversion from Eagle so the automatic association in KiCad does not work. Seeed don’t seem interested in fixing their libs or maintaining them.

I would try loading the Eagle libs directly, or convert them to KiCad with a better conversion tool.
