using ver 6.05. when i open the assign footprint chooser the search bar doesn’t work. when i can actually find a parts footprint dbl clicking on it makes it disappear. very frustrating

Are you writing about the footprint chooser in the Symbol Properties?
If so, did you single left click on the three books icon on the left of the footprint value line?
