Append Schematic Sheet, asks for Path

I tried searching the Docs but found nothing useful.

EESCHEMA started asking for a path if the Append Schematic Sheet feature is used. Why does it need a path? It is only coping the content as far as the documentation tells.

It looks like it adds the libraries to the project’s symbol library table. Relative or absolute path refer to library table entries.

So the schematic is still just a plain copy?

It should be. You can check the .sch files in the project directory if you want to be sure - they are human readable.
