Annoying error

I hereby certify that I am not simply asking someone else to design a footprint for me.

This is an auto-generated message that is in place on the “footprints” section of the KiCad.info forum. If I remove it and ask for a footprint to be designed anyway, I understand that I will be subject to forum members telling me to go design my own footprint or referring me to a 3rd party footprint site.

I have been getting this error for the last few weeks. I’ve just been ignoring it, but it is irritating me enough that I’d like to fix it:

Not found:

Applications/EE_Programs/KiCad_8.09/KiCad.app/Contents/SharedSupport/footprints//Connector_HDMI.pretty

I’ve never touched an HDMI connector in KiCad. Where is this error coming from, and how do I fix it?

You only need to remove this library entry from your footprint libraries configuration.

This error is caused because a library has been removed(merged with another one IIRC) from the official release and KiCad is trying to find that missing library. (User’s fp-lib-table file is not aware of that change.)
