The component’s silkscreen is integral with its footprint. What’s the correct thing to do when you want to add some extra info to the component silkscreen? e.g. pin designations on pin headers. Do you need to make your own footprint library with these components?
Most likely yes. (By the way the kicad pin headers are scripted. https://github.com/pointhi/kicad-footprint-generator/tree/master/scripts/Connector_PinSocket I guess headers are in the same script but i am not sure about that. Run it and see what is generated.)
