Absolute position 0.0/0.0

Dear Members

How can i set upper left corner for my board an absolute position 0.0/0.0.

You can’t. Nobody can.

There are too many threads in this forum with the same question.

Future releases will cater for that.

You can’t move the 0/0 position, but you can move your board.
I prefer to have 0/0 so that symmetrical holes has equal positive/negative coordinates.

Your best bet for now is to work with the space bar feature.

Every time you press the space bar the coordinates with respect to the current cursor position are set to 0, 0.

You can then take it from there. Extremely useful. Coordinates are shown in the status bar at the bottom.

There are better options available. The position relative tool (crtl+r) is one of them. It allows you to position any asset relative to either another asset or the grid origin. (So if you set the grid origin at the lower left corner of the pcb then you already have a way to enter coordinates relative to it via this tool.)

Ah, that’s what it is.

It is present in 5.1.2, however it seems to have vanished (temporary I presume) in master.

Still, for now, nothing beats the space bar feature!
