update from 8.0.8 to 8.0.9.
Every symbol I insert into a schematic, except resistors and capacitors, is placed with designator and name positioned to the positioned at the right edge. Although everything is still correct in the symbol editor and in the insert preview. Is this due to a setting or does KiCad have a small problem?

I have never cared about it - I always move reference and value to some other position.
I think there is a setting specifying if texts are set as in symbol editor or are arranged automatically.
When upgrading from V8.0.8 to 8.0.9 this setting (whenever it is) should not change. I have not installed 8.0.9 yet so …

I was able to do something with the hint. I have tried the 3 settings above. The top one does the automatic placement. Thank you. However, I am sure I have never changed anything in these options. I have no idea.
Sometimes I don’t have KiCad at hand to check what I am writing.
In this case just before going home (about 22:00) I switched off my working PC (with KiCad) and before switching of my internet PC (Win7, no KiCad) decided to check what’s up on the KiCad forum.
It is why I left for you searching for options. I’m glad you made it.
