I downloaded, then created a “Sample” project in $HOME/Documents. I opened EESchema from the project window, it opened fine, then I clicked the Symbol Editor icon in the top bar. Always crashes. I. tried drawing some wires first, still crashes. Downloaded again and checked the shasum’s of the files, they match. I would’ve attached my crash report, but since I am a new user I can’t, so it is pasted below, after the system information. Thank you.

. The Symbol Editor did come up, but before I could do anything with it, the Auto Update dialog box appeared a 2nd time, and failed to populate. The only active control was the red dot for close. Only it didn’t close. The rest of the app is blocked by this dialog. Following the spirit of craftyjon’s post, I completely uninstalled the 3Dconnexion driver by running the Uninstall program in their folder in /Applications. Now 8.0.4 works as it does on my ARM Mac.
