7.0 PCB Design went wrong. Got a couple of warning and errors

I hereby certify that I am not simply asking someone else to design a footprint for me.

This is an auto-generated message that is in place on the “footprints” section of the KiCad.info forum. If I remove it and ask for a footprint to be designed anyway, I understand that I will be subject to forum members telling me to go design my own footprint or referring me to a 3rd party footprint site.

I started using KiCad for my university course and today I ran Into some issues with my PCB design. I am still a beginner and everything we do in class is following the tutor step by step. I was given an assignment which I followed carefully but when using Design Rules Checker I saw some warnings and and error. I looked the instructions over and over again but I wasn’t able to find what I did wrong.

I tried looking in the forum and all over the internet for solutions but I can’t find how to fix them.

I am using Kicad 7.0 on Windows 10.

If given the permission, I will upload the project here.

OK. You have been leveled up.

Thank you very much!

I haven’t looked beyond seeing the immediate problem - you did Not draw a PCB shape on the Edge_Cut layer (that’s where to draw it). You drew it on the Front Cu layer. I didn’t delete it but you’ll want to delete it from that layer…

ADDED: Check your circuit - it has some obvious error but I leave it to you to fix it (and learn from it).

Track has unconnected end,

Use the zoom function to look carefully at the tracks attached to MK1

Via is not connected or connected to one layer.

A via is a join between at least two layers of a pcb. Check to make sure all your vias have at least one track on each layer joining them.

Board has malformed outline.

The outline of a PCB in Kicad is defined by the Edge Cuts layer. What layer have you used?

The DRC generally describes errors in plain English. DRC does not describe faults with cryptic clues :slightly_smiling_face:
