… With respect to FreeCad and KiCad ( and, perhaps more for my self-education):
Been working on making Parts and figuring out:
• the best sequence for making a single part into three parts
• exporting from StepUp
• using it as a Footprint
The trick is to make each part copy into a Compound then, compounding each into a single compound, then exporting from StepUp - this sequence enables successfully exporting a .Step.
The Example is a Mounting Block and Three 2-Pin Terminal Blocks. All combined into one .Step file for use as a Footprint.
The 3-D Mount Block is posted for downloading and printing, along with the .Step file for use in KiCad…
