5.1 dragging a net issue with mouse clicks

Another 5.1 question and change I’m seeing. Maybe it’s an option somewhere I’m missing, but the original default behavior when dragging a net in layout (assuming nothing around) was to highlight the section and then simply click&hold and start dragging. I am finding that the new behavior is to highlight the section, click&hold to drag, but the graphics won’t actually update the dragging until you let go. Then you have to click again to stop dragging.

The workaround for this is to use the drag (d) hotkey after selecting a net, but I really found the click&hold-drag more efficient for my purposes.

Note: The old method still works as-intended for footprints. It just doesn’t seem to do so for segment drag.

Am I missing a setting somewhere that can enable the previous behavior? Have checked prefs and interactive router settings (my default action is interactive drag). Verified between ubuntu and windows.

(I am getting used to the deprecated netlisting though! Really!)

It’s been already reported here https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1820312

BTW, you don’t need to select the track before (D)ragging. Hovering it and hit D is enough.

Well, guess my search wasn’t as thorough as I thought it was… :stuck_out_tongue:
