3D Viewer displays a "phantom" component that's not on PCB layout

I’ve (re)created the PCB for a WAVGAT Rotary Encoder however the PCB 3D Viewer is displaying an additional component (a scaled down version of a 5-pin header) embedded in the board. This component is definitely not included on the PCB layout and does not appear when I open the .kicad_pcb or .wrl files with FreeCAD 0.20.2.

How do I get rid of this “phantom” component from KiCad’s PCB 3D Viewer?

Can you upload the project?

It is possible to have more than one 3D CAD file associated with a footprint, are you certain this isn’t the case ?

For example:

I seem to have fixed it.

I’m still finding it difficult to manage footprint libraries. In this case I seem to have created a few too many personal libraries containing footprints for the Alps EC-11 rotary encoder (including the 3D model), and there was only one with the correct 3D model.attached.
