When the 3D-model package is part of upgrade in Ubuntu, the package is approx. 360 MB. That’s OK. However, the package manager is eating up almost 4 GB of the disk root / during the install process, which may lead to serious slowdowns and finally restoration of the former install, because free space in / reaches 0 -. which can happen easily on systems with separate partitions for /home and the root.
I’d suggest to separate the 3D-package into two or three packages in order to limit temporary disk usage.
