I am 77 years old, a retired (17Yrs) millwright from heavy industry field. I love working with, and learning electronics, especially trying to keep up with technology. Which can be daunting at .times for me. My hobbies are gardening, cooking, amateur radio (Extra Class Wb7pnc) mostly morse code, reading, Use to love packing up into the Teton Mountains, which is now over, and thanking the Lord for all He has done for me. I am married, divorced (10yrs) while working to reconcile. I live with my son who is 30 and a serious game-aholic. Recently I started migrating from easyEDA to Kicad. I needed to do this because the circuit/pcb I’m currently working on is Kicad built. So far it has been an up hill battle mainly because I thought upgrading from Kicad 4.0.7 to Kicad 7.0.1 would be total backwards compatible. I am finding it is not. Did the rescue but still the project is riddled with discrepancies that are taking a toll on me. At present, I am trying to figure out how exchange an obsolete symbol/footprint with Kicad 7.0.1 stuff.
Not sure what to do as most of the stuff I find on the internet is hard to sift through the versions, and I see nothing in the 7 program dialogs that have helped me . Anyway, Thanks for the nice email. I will try not to rock the boat. Bill
