After about 25 years using Altium Designer/P-CAD, decided to make the jump to KiCAD. The changes to version 6.0 is what convinced me to make the move. Altium has lost focus, is constantly introducing new bugs every time they touch the code and, in stead of using subscription funds to support customer they went on a cloud-based mission nobody is interested in.

KiCAD is a breath of fresh air. We are planning on contributing both financially and with code (once we get going).

My goal would be to help make it a top quality FOSS product, in the vein of Blender and GIMP.
