Have worked in the electronics industry all my life, starting in domestic radio and TV (1969) and moving into telecommunications and finally to design/ development and prototype work for a government department. Main claim to fame was analogue systems such as sensor interface and signal conditioning, motor drives and custom switch mode power supply design. Don’t have an engineering degree - just an associate diploma and a lot of enthusiasm for my work. Electronics has also always been a hobby interest and now semi retired and in my late sixties have been doing a lot more of my own projects, hence the motivation to get more serious with producing my own board layouts. During my full time working life my involvement tended to stop at schematic and working prototype production - board layout was by others - following issued guidelines. Did some of my own stuff with an early version of Protel and have done some simple layouts with Autocad but until now have not attempted the whole process with serious software.
