XD-RF 5V RF Module into Schematics

Hi all,
I am new to KiCad, I am trying to build a PCB with a XD-RF 5V Module for 433 MHz.
I have found a footprint file with the extension kicad_mod (copied this one into a directory “RF Receiver 433 MHz” directory) and a RFSolutions.dcm and RFSolutions.lib file (those I copied into …\Kicad\share\kicad\library directory.

Still I cannot locate that part with the just 4 pins in a row into my schematics.

What am I doing wrong ?

THANKS for your help,
Alex

Could you post a link to the actual device you have?

Based on your question, you have a “Footprint”, but no “Symbol”.

The xxx.kicad_mod is the file for a footprint. It needs to be placed into your personal Footprint Lib. Have you done that? I’m sure there are youtube vids for this; if not, write to me again.

Have you used the Symbol Editor before? It is not difficult. You need to create a Symbol so that you can associate the new XD-RF symbol to the existing footprint.

That’s the one I am using (on right hand side, that’s the receiver)

Thanks for your replies,
I really appreciate,
Alex
