I think for nightly builds the build date (+time of last commit) would be sufficient?
(In git you could simulate version numbers by manually taging the commit. But i think this would be to much effort.)
Hm, we definitely need some sort of ID for the nightlies and the 4 digit thing was easy, so as the hex numbers are ‘out-of-order’ we better use the date for the build from now on I guess?
