Newbie here.
Running Kicad 6.99 on a Win10Pro PC.
I just “cloned” the DigiKey Kicad Library from GitHub.
The Question: Is there another library that I should consider adding?
Thanks for any help.
I highly recommend learning to make your own footprints instead. The process is much easier than it might look at first.
If you want to get some additional libraries anyway, here’s some links:
- My own publicly available library:
Alternate KiCad Library 2.0
It is available directly through Kicad’s plugin manager, but it is currently flagged as compatible with 6.0. The library should work on 6.99 with no problems though. - 4ms Kicad libraries:
https://github.com/4ms/4ms-kicad-lib
This one is also available through the plugin manager - Website contaning many standalone symbols and footprints:
SnapEDA | Free PCB Footprints and Schematic Symbols
Haven’t used it personally, but many people recommend it. - Kicad website - 3-rd party library list:
Third Party Libraries | KiCad EDA
Old list, I’m not sure if any of the libraries here are still updated.
