Using the 2N3859A Transistor in DIY Audio Amplifier Designs

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a DIY audio amplifier project and planning to use the 2N3859A NPN power transistor for amplification. From my research, I’ve found it’s a solid choice due to its high current handling and excellent frequency response, but I’d love some input from the community.

Has anyone used the 2N3859A in audio applications before? Any advice on circuit design, potential challenges, or general tips for optimizing performance would be greatly appreciated.

A bit about the 2N3859A:

Type: NPN Power Transistor
Key Features: High current handling, good frequency response, durable
Typical Applications: Audio amplification, power switching
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

OK, but this is a KiCad specific forum . . . what is your KiCad question ?

Off topic, this forum deals specifically with questions about KiCAD, how to use the software, are X or Y features available, support for new users from more experienced users, behaviors, idiosyncrasies, etc. etc.

It is not meant to be a general projects or parts forum, for those topics there are better avenues as mentioned before.
