Using Block Library in KiCad 9.0.4 on macOS

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to adopt KiCad’s “Block” functionality (from the Block Library) to manage and reuse schematic snippets. I’m converting my used circuits from Eagle into a structured KiCad block library with subfolders.

I cannot find the menu items or commands to create a block.

I’ve seen references to block-related commands in the keyboard shortcut list, but I cannot find any corresponding entries in the Tools menu or any other menu or in a toolbar.

I recall reading an old thread suggesting there might be a hidden configuration setting that needs to be enabled to unlock this menu on macOS. Is this still the case?

Could someone please clarify how to get the Block Library features working on macOS? Specifically, how do I access the “Save Block to Library” command?

Thank you for your help.

BTW, The Shift-B show a mouse pointer with a plus sign, but doesn’t do anything.

Did you look in the Manual ?

Yep,

It didn’t show me any extra menu.
However, I use a second screen, and I noticed that KiCad expands the schematic window ) on the left display) beyond the display boundaries, but not showing up on the right display. So I need to resize the window before I use View > Panels > Design Blocks to see the panels. Once there, I can do some things, but not all of the block commands that are mentioned as keystrokes.
