I’d need to trace some tracks on my PCB with no solder mask. Is it possible?

I tried to expose a polygon, but a msg popped up saying: select drawings to be moved to new layer use GAL for selecting lines.
it works with tracks… for polygon simply duplicate it and move the copy to a mask layer
