Solder stencil alternatives

I sometimes have to solder boards for which I didn’t order a stencil, and there often a cameo saves me, especially with a batch of 5 pieces

Ahh, you got me on a nostalgia bent. I went looking for an old mylar stencil I cut way back then, but I don’t think they survived my last move. I did find some of my early pcb layouts though:
