I just updated to V9.0.2. ALL my schematics in all my projects now throw an ERC warning on (edit: many not all) components. Symbol xxx doesn’t match symbol in library. I accepted all the defaults during the install. I use “Update Symbol” in component properties to fix it, but this is going to be tedious to say the least. Is this normal and expected? The Update Symbol dialog allows updating all components of the same type, but it seems I still need to manually update every single type of symbol? Surely I’m missing something? Thanks for any guidance.
You updated to 9.0.2 from what other version?
From version 8. In prior updates (5 to 6, 6 to 7, 7 to 8) I do not recall having to update symbols from the library.
Just wondering why (edit: so many, not every) component was updated? Even the small resistor? “Device:R_Small”
OTOH I’m glad to see some new symbols.
Is there is an option in KiCad to automatically update symbols?
Tools → Update symbols from library

Click on Tools / Update symbols from library, and then update all symbols.
