I was referring to only non-KiCad questions as I qualified it with “while the thread is still open”. Which is the kind of thread we are discussing here.

Ah yes. It just shows I am going blind as well as stupid. It must be an age related problem.

He asked only about diode parameters and you are right - he could find the answers in datasheet faster.
What I decided to point was not noticed by anyone OPs error in reasoning. And according to:
at first I left him some room for investigation. When, what I said was questioned (not by OP) I decided to provide full explanation.
