I don’t have a strong opinion about this and just use what’s available. Making different battery symbols just for their pin types also has disadvantages and probably will confuse some people, while use of extra PWR_FLAG symbols is quite common for people who have used KiCad for some time.

I was confused to hell when starting with Kicad by the PWR_FLAG protocol, but now I just pop them in without really thinking about it like a good little boy !
