Plugin and content manager - where? Kicad 7.0.11 under macOS

I’m following a YT video on Autorouter. (https://youtu.be/AuBZ1W80c9s). The tutor says “click on the plugin and content manager”. I don’t see this feature. All it does (if I click on "Plugin and contents manager in the preferences box) is this picture:

Don’t wate your time with the Autorouter . . . YOU can do a far superior job.

Oh man… the right portion of the window was occluded at the bottom. And since it was not scrollable by the mouse or a right scrollbar was visible, I thought there were no more items at the bottom. Bad GUI design. Normally windows with occluded contents should show that by activating a scroll bar. One may discuss about that but that’s why I got fooled by this.

You are saying “wasting time using an AR”? I used the AR in EAGLE often to minimize vias for example. And it saved me time, not wasted time.

This however is an issue of MacOS, it hides the scrollbar for all UI elements when no mouse is connected. I only have windows at hand right now, but for me the window is scrollable.

I’ve never tried the freerouter plugin, however there are often people on this forum having problems with it. So I guess that is what Raptor was talking about

I’ve never used an AutoRouter but from the small samples I have seen on this forum they don’t do a good job.

I’d rather have a good job done once than a bad one done quickly, then a replacement done quickly, etc, etc.

Real men don’t use Autorouter.
