Permanently associating a 3D model with a footprint

I watched a youtube video and was able to link a 3D model to a footprint in PCB Layout. But is there a way to permanently link a a 3D model to a footprint so that whenever you add that footprint, the 3D model is coming with it? I could not find such option in PCB footprint editor.
