Yes it does. Strictly speaking v5 allows edge.cuts in the file format but doesn’t support it in the GUI. Full support was added to v6.

Its off to V6 then! Well, not quite so fast,I guess. OS10.15 or later (Catalina). I have 10.14 and planning to upgrade, but have to archive a bunch of stuff first. Need to do that anyway, for TurboTax. Off to do stuff I have been procrastinating over.

A workaround for placing lines on Edge.Cuts in KiCad V5 is to change the layer name in a text editor.
I don’t think you’ll regret moving to v6 – it’s been a nice experience for me.
