How can I assing a correct footprint to a 7805 regulator?
TO-220 packages give an error in Pcbnew (“pad not found”), there’s no regulator library for footprints and I cannot edit the basic TO-220 packages to give pad names.
Check the 7805 schematic symbol. I bet it doesn’t have pin-numbers assigned, and the TO-220 footprint probably wants (1,2,3).
Quickest solution: create your own libraries and add parts you need + make sure they work.

Yeah, that error message points to a mismatch between the schematic’s symbol pins and the footprint’s pad designations. I don’t understand why you can’t edit footprint, though.
