Hi! I am using Kicad 7 and there is a strange problem when I try to create traces. Sometimes, the system points to DRC rules violation where I can´t see any violation. it seems to me that kicad is assuming the wrong clearance boundary. I have checked the configurations and they are the same as set in the beginning of the project.
The DRC error presentd is saying “Front solder mask aperture bridges items with different nets”
Any Ideas about what is happening?
The article is a bit outdated because it doesn’t answer the problem, the DRC violation, directly, but you should be able to deduct the answer from it.
You should be more specific.
If you use 7.0.1 than first answer should be: Upgrade to 7.0.11.
If you use 7.0.11 than there is idea to search the problem source.
It is very common that solder masks have two different nets in the same aperture when you use SMD parts. The mask is quite coarse and the fabs cannot reliably place thin fingers of mask between close pads
