HowTo running 5.0.0 aside 4.0.7 on debian?

Since 5.0.0 was released as stable, I downloaded the 5.0.0 deb package for my 64-bit -amd64 x86_64 debian linux architecture PC from


and saved it to my /home/user/Downloads/kicad_5.0.0+dfsg1-1_amd64.deb
I renamed /home/user/kicad /home/user/kicad4

Since I have gotten kicad 4.0.7 to print traces onto a pdf, I am reluctant to overwrite it. If I installed the 5.0.0 deb
package using dpkg, will my kicad 4.0.7 still work?

I replaced 4.0.7 w/ 5.0.0.
