I would like to create the Infineon PG-LLGA-5-1 footprint found at https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/packages/PG-LLGA/PG-LLGA-5-1/ and https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-IM69D130-DS-v01_00-EN.pdf?fileId=5546d462602a9dc801607a0e46511a2e .
All but the stencil openings around pin 5 are relatively easy with KiCad v5. I haven’t been able to figure out how to create that shape exactly. (I can make an approximation but if there’s a way to exactly match the recommendation I’d of course prefer that.) Does anybody have tricks on how to generate paste openings that are curved ovals?
Thanks!
You don’t need to match that shape exactly, a ring of circles with the same total area would suffice.
@1.21Gigawatts is correct. But if you really want to match that shape you can use freecad plus the kicad stepup workbench to create this.
Hi,
following some internal needs I have developed the generation of footprints from FreeCAD Sketcher to KiCad PCB Footprint Editor.
