How organize sub folders in libraries?

I am organizing my libraries. And I have one small question behind the TL:DR label. I did 3D models already. This will surely result in many broken paths, but it was inevitable. The schematics are already organized decently enough. The one which needs most attentions are the footprints. I only have one library.pretty :frowning:

I want to add many more items and especially combinations. When inserting a symbol in the schematic for idk let’s say a 6mm or 12mm tactile I already want to pick size, height and colors. But first I need order to chaos.

As you see, too many different items for any library

TL:DR
Can I make use of subfolders inside the .pretty folder? or is that FUBAR and should I just make more .pretty folders and copy paste files to the appriopiate .pretty folders?

kind regards, :coffee:

No, Kicad doesn’t do sub folders.
Folders and sub-folders are for your OS :slightly_smiling_face:

Not answer to your question but may be will be helpful.
An year ago I have written how are my KiCad libraries organised (including footprints):

I have seen it once, I’ll look it thru at my earliest convenience ;-).
