How do I print a list of my parts or print a BOM?

So I designed a PCB with 334 components and ready to make a parts list. How does the BOM generator of KiCAD 5.0.2 work with windows 10? It asks for a plugin and command prompt window for me to do something. What am I supposed to do? I don’t code in Python, I design PCBs.

Why can’t one copy/paste or at least PRINT the symbol-to-footprint association list or is there way to export? I had no choice but to take screenshots and print them out, then manually enter the data into excel in order to complete the BOM.

How to create a bill of materials (BOM)?

There are two options in KiCad to create a BOM. Either from the schematic or pcb side. Creating a BOM via pcb_new is very simple but also limited in its capabilities (The pcb knows only about the reference, value and footprint assigned to a symbol.) I suppose that BOM generation window was improved when 5.0 was changed to 5.1.

I also know really nothing about python, but asking here I got enough help to even modify a little one of ready to use python scripts installed automatically with KiCad (at least with Windows version). When in Schematic (I’m in 5.1.5 - there could be little changes since 5.0 - second digit (0 versus 1) means for me something was changed in user interface) you select Tools->Generate Bill of Materials you get the Bill of Material window.
