Is it possible to place something on the edge cuts layer in a footprint?
I need to cut small plated slots in a board for mounting a potentiometer. (the potentiometer solders in)
I’m manufacturing the board with OSHPark. They do not support oval holes in pads. OSHPark recommended placing a rectangle on top of the oval pad in the edge cuts layer to form the slots. I would like to include the edge cuts rectangle in the foot print so that i don’t have to do it every time i lay out the board.
Not directly via the gui. But you can place your rectangle on another layer (b.silk layer would do) and move it to the edge cuts layer using a text editor.
