I am happy to be proven wrong on this! For the first time I was able to print a usable PDF of the board outline, part outlines, vales and solder pads. Without references and values being doubled.
V8. Include layers: Edge Cuts
Plot on all Layers: F.Silkscreen, F.Mask
I did include drill marks: actual size. But they seem to be obscured by the mask shapes.
My celebration was short lived. Clicking on the PDF or SVG (I plotted both) opens it in Firefox, where the text is not doubled. Imported either file into Corel, the doubled text is back. AND the cleaner text is locked.
I dragged everything that wasnāt locked away from the locked text and it did separate. But the unlocked text has a 0.425 pt outline on each letter. This looks bloated and odd.
Can I address this too? Yes. Will I? Probably. Just more steps in the process that seem needless. Especially when Iām always under pressure to deliver.
Itās the vector graphics editorās problem that it renders 0-opacity text (needed for search function), but thereās a workaround implemented in KiCad 8.0.4+.
I also plotted a PDF with same selections. This opens fine in Firefox and Edge. Wonāt open at all in Corel. Iāve had to force quit Corel 3 times in task manager.
Iām still using Corel 17, maybe itās time to update.
