Assigning net classes to a large group of nets

Sorry, I mixed up the hotkeys. Shift+` (~ on US layout) is the default for clear highlighting (not sure why yours is Ctrl+W). Ctrl+` toggles the highlight off/on after selection, as you found.

There may be a better way to do this, but “dimming” the board so you can see the ratsnests better is useful. With my key bindings above, one way to do this is Ctrl+W followed by Ctrl+Q. This clears the highlighting, then toggles it, which shows the entire board dimmed except for ratsnest. Again, there is probably a better way to do this …

That sounds like a bug. Do you know of the layer display modes (hotkey Ctrl+H)? You can dim the inactive layers in this way.

Yes, but Ctrl+H does not dim the currently selected layer – I would like a way to dim all layers except the ratsnests.

I could select an unused layer, and then press Ctrl-H to get this effect though.

Well, there is no intentional feature for that today. It sounds like a bug that you get that behavior when highlighting no net - you shouldn’t be able to highlight no net. This bug might get fixed eventually, so if it’s important to you, you should probably open an issue for it.

Yes, you can get it by switching to an unused layer.

Yeah, that’s fair. Pretty easy to shoot yourself in the foot that way.
