Thanks. Yes that is what I did with it. Maybe I should put in a feature request, unless it is already there in 9.X?
At least a couple of times, I have posted my L2 net tie on other threads.
Thanks, I’ll keep an eye open for that. It shouldn’t get too “hacky” but if it appears just as custom symbol/footprint, it sounds good.
Not sure about others but I ran into the topic with a star routing for GND (which I managed to get rid of, problem solved). For a single node, an exposed “testpoint” wouldn’t matter.
I was thinking about using net ties heavily for “floorplanning” of point-to-multipoint wires, where the geometry is critical (long trace with short stub lines to inputs, terminating resistor at the non-driving end). But that’s unproven methodology on my end.
I was just playing with those footprints. I was mistaken in that the one I posted is on internal layer 2 which is actually the third layer. Anyway I just made another one which is on internal layer 1 (second actual layer).
I will save you some trouble and post those two net ties here. No warranty associated with them. Buyer be where?
Net Tie 1.5 x 1.0_internal_2.kicad_mod (845 Bytes)
Net Tie 3.5 x 1_Internal_1.kicad_mod (1.9 KB)
