I have seen the info that it is planned to get to next versions faster than previously. So if V7 will be an year after V6 then half year left
I’ve just switched to V6. I would have done it earlier but I was working at Win7 and V6 needs Win10.
V6 already has far fewer bugs than V5, which has not had any backports since V6 was released.
I’m on a Mac (Catalina) and run both V 6.05 and 6.99 on the same operating system, for a while I also installed v5.x but had no need for it so removed it again as it seems a bit old fashioned… Running the “serious” projects on 6.05, just for the sake of it, and now and then open 6.99 (updating with nightly builds every time they arrive) to check out the progress, and KICad now seems very promising… No stability issues to talk about in any of them…
