3rd Party Library Installation on Old Mac

Hi,

I’m new to KiCad and wish to add a 3rd party library on GitHub by mcous. I’m on an old mac running 10.11.6. El Capitan. Because of this I’m using KiCad (5.0.2-5)-5. I’ve read many ways to install libraries, but all are different.
Could someone please advise me on how I should install this library and the best policies such as where to store it etc, or direct me to a thread to do so?

Best option is to clone or download the lib to your local drive and then add all libraries you need to their respective library tables. See Library management in KiCad version 5 for details

Also 5.0.x is no longer maintained you might want to consider updating to 5.1.5

Hi @Rene_Poschi,

Thank’s for the input, I’ll have a scan through it. Regarding 5.1.5, sadly my mac is so old I can’t upgrade the OS above what I have, 10.11.6 so can only use KiCad 5.0.2. Thank’s anyway.

There is always the option to use linux to save an ageing hardware from obsolescence.
