2-layer board methodology in audio design

@davidsrsb Thanks, David. The top layer is almost exclusively analogue signal and power traces, and the bottom layer 0V GND area fill as well as 3 separate signal ground area fills (per the original design).

@richardsonpj Patrick, thanks for the detailed guidance. I’m not 100% sure I understood your suggestion though, “…pairing it (ground area fill) with another filled plane exactly equal and opposite to the middle of the board…” - ‘middle’ as in middle layer?

Were you suggesting a 4 layer board?
Top 1: say, ground plane 5mil
2: say, power 50mil
3: ?
4: say, signal traces 5mil

Two layer boards are fine for this sort of circuit.
Try to imagine the power current flow, which includes the 0V return. You don’t want your power tracks to pass over unrelated ground fills for more than a few mm or to force the return current into big loops.
