KiCAD v9 project library

Hi.
I previously discussed how to create a library for a project. I described my solution here
KiCAD project library .
Now I’m trying to do the same thing in version 9.0.5. I’m having problems.

The Archive 3D plugin doesn’t work here. The plugin creates two text files, but doesn’t create a library of 3D models.
How can I create a 3D library for a project in this version so that the models are linked to their footprints?
There’s an option to link the models as a file to each footprint, but that would require redoing all the libraries.

test_1_missing3Dmodels.txt (323 Bytes)

test_1_log_missing3Dmodels.txt (4 Bytes)

The plugin says it can’t find the models, but they are present.

What version of the Plugin are you using ?

The plugin version is 1.1.6. There was no update for this plugin in the plugin manager. But I still uninstalled it and reinstalled it. The version was the same after the reinstall.

If you look at the end of Version 9.0.0 Released | KiCad then there is a mention that you can export 3D models directly from within the PCB editor. I am still on V8 myself, and therefore I don’t know more details.

I was only trying version 9.0.0 back then. Everything worked in that version. It doesn’t work in version 9.0.5.

OK, which Plugin are you talking about ? not this one ?

I was mistaken. I’m so sorry, I mixed up the plugin.
I confused the “Archive 3D models” plugin with the “Missing 3D model” plugin, which shows missing 3D models.
It wasn’t in version 8, I got it mixed up.
I shouldn’t have brought up the issue.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Didn’t waste my time at all if it helped you,

If there is some regression bug, then you should report it on gitlab. Bug fix releases for KiCad are approximately monthly, and waiting a bit for a (reported!) bug fix may be easier for you then attempting to find workarounds with (old) plugins.

Thanks. I might be missing something, so I’ll ask on the forum first. If they tell me it’s a bug, then I report it, as you say on GitLab.
I’ve already reported a bug on GitLab twice.
In this case, I was the one who made the mistake.
